Marilyn Chambers began her career as an actress, first featured in the film “The Owl and the Pussycat” starring Barbra Streisand and later became nationally recognized as the model appearing on the box of Ivory Soap.

With her contagious smile, flowing blonde hair and perfect figure, she was seen as the classic all American girl -- so that in 1972 when she starred in her first adult film “Behind the Green Door” with the African-American adult actor Johnny Keyes, she shocked the nation… not to mention her sponsors at Proctor & Gamble.

She went on to appear in over two-dozen adult films, most notably the 1980 classic “Insatiable” and is recognized as one of the most famous and influential actresses in adult film history.

In 1977 she played the lead role in David Cronenberg’s timeless horror/thriller “Rage” and has since appeared in several independent films and documentaries. Also a singer, in 1977 she released the disco hit, “Benihana,” that peaked at #9 on the R&B charts.

In “Porndogs: The Adventures of Sadie” Marilyn voices the sweet and innocent blonde lead, Sadie. By the way, neither of her lovely dogs are featured in the film.

On April 12, 2009, Marilyn quietly passed away, not having had the chance to see the final cut of what has sadly become her last film. We hope she's looking down with a joyful smile, a hearty laugh and a knowing wink. We'll miss her dearly.
